How many people need the E7 for Agent 365? Is it just those who administer agents & M365? Or does everyone with an E5 license need E7 for Agent 365?
MicrosoftAgent 365 licenses are required only for users of agents that employ premium features of Agent 365. This covers all agents that work on behalf of the user (and leverage the user's identity).
The admin doesn't need a license unless they are also using agents as described above. Users who create agents also don't need an Agent 365 license, unless they are using agents as described above.
To make it easier to manage and plan, we recommend licensing groups of users who are actively using agents.
What are the premium features? Are there non-premium features? Is there a license difference?
This is the elephant in the room the answerers are ignoring - they need to be much clearer
- What the experience is with no Agent 365 licences applied to a tenant (does an admin still see those tabs in the admin centre?)
- Presumably because an admin doesn't need a licence explictly they will still still see those tabs?At what point does the per user licencing come into play
- If the admin views reports (or is that base functionality)?- When a policy or control is applied to an agent?
At what point is the rubicon crossed into needing the licenses?
