- Thomas_Zou
Microsoft
Hey Reid, Thanks for the question. Defender for Cloud is a platform for our cloud security solution. There are multiple "plans" involved. See this website to know more: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/security/business/solutions/cloud-workload-protection Some other plans are Defender for containers, Defender for Storage, Databases protections.
- Dan CallahanCopper ContributorCould you post links to 1) learning paths for Defender for cloud 2) clearinghouse for marketing/sales materials Thanks!

20 minutes left! Get all your questions in to get them answered before the hour is up 🙂 - AMateos91Iron ContributorHello everyone. Nice to reach out to you. This is Abraham Mateos, CEO at Kumy Solutions. I only have one question. In relation to one of our main projects, where we will use Azure services, we would like to know what are the latest implementations to secure data processing/transferring and its content integrity if we are dealing with satellite sensors communication. Thanks!
- BojanMagusic1Former EmployeeHi Abraham. Thank you for joining. There are two parts of the questions, they way I understand it. One around discovering sensitive data, which we can provide using the data sensitivity capabilities in Microsoft Defender for Cloud or thought the integration between Microsoft Defender for Cloud and Microsoft Purview. The second part of the question, is around how Azure services in general handle secure data processing, for which I'd like to share a link to the following resources that might be of real value: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/trust-center/product-overview#:~:text=Products%20and%20services%20that%20run,compliance%2C%20and%20transparency%20in%20mind. Hope I understood your scenario correctly.
- AMateos91Iron ContributorAbsolutely. Thank you Bojan!
- AMateos91Iron ContributorI would like to know as well what are the main tools and measures if we wrangle and manager data on satellite onboarding. Thanks!
- BojanMagusic1Former EmployeeCan you maybe share more details around the scenario? Want to ensure I understood the scenario correctly. Also, if you're considering using specific Azure services, would you mind sharing which Azure services? It would be helpful to understand which ones, so we can validate how these services could be protected with Microsoft Defender for Cloud.
- Dan CallahanCopper ContributorThanks Trevor for directing me to the right place. My first question is a basic one. What, in a sentence or two, is MS Defender for Cloud? How does it relate to the other "defender for..." services?
- BojanMagusic1Former Employee
Nice to meet you electronically Dan. Thank you for joining. It's a great question. My take on it is that Microsoft Defender for Cloud is a solution that helps you protect your hybrid and cloud workloads across IaaS and PaaS. Defender for Cloud is part of the wider Microsoft Defender eco-system, which covers other types of workloads, like identities, client endpoints, or SaaS applications, and integrates with other Microsoft Defender products. This also is where a solution like Microsoft Sentinel can be of real value, because Sentinel can provide end-to-end visibility across the entire digital estate and various Microsoft Defender products. Let us know, if this helps.
- Dan CallahanCopper ContributorVery useful, thanks!
- Tim ChadbourneCopper ContributorHow do you control defend for cloud settings at a more granular level then a subscription? For example, I have multiple resource groups for servers and I want plan 1 on some and plan 2 on others.
- Amit_BitonFormer EmployeeEchoing Thomas's answer. Tim - I'd love to connect offline to discuss more about your requirements and need for granularity. Can we reach out to you in the future about this one?
- Tim ChadbourneCopper ContributorAbsolutely. Happy to provide feedback.
- Thomas_Zou
Microsoft
Hey Tim, Great question, we have heard similar feedback, and this more granular control is something our product team is thinking about as well. We can't reveal the precise timeline for its release, but it is on our agenda.
