My take on it is that Microsoft Defender for Cloud is a solution that helps you protect your hybrid and cloud workloads across IaaS and PaaS. Defender for Cloud is part of the wider Microsoft Defender eco-system, which covers other types of workloads, like identities, client endpoints, or SaaS applications, and integrates with other Microsoft Defender products. This also is where a solution like Microsoft Sentinel can be of real value, because Sentinel can provide end-to-end visibility across the entire digital estate and various Microsoft Defender products.
