  • Hi, I would not plan production timelines around Insider storage features until Microsoft publishes something specific. NVMe/TCP showing up in preview is promising, but multipathing and HA need explicit support statements before you design around them. For now, I'd keep testing in lab and watch Windows Server Insider release notes for MPIO/HA announcements.

This is about future-proofing investments, when one storage provider has iSCSI + NVMe/TCP and the other has only iSCSI then this is one important argument among others.

And as I said, curiosly, I HAVE NO INSIDER SERVERS. They are vanilla Volume Licensing LTSC media and I already have the NVMe driver/tooling infrastructure it seems. Made me wonder if there's already something cooking. Testing without multipathing makes no sense for me.

Interestingly, I have production/LTS servers from VL media and even I already have an nvmeofutil.exe with a MS NVMeoF Initiator Adapter. So it really begs the question when will this be production-ready. I do not have an NVMe system for testing yet but we will get a new NVMe/TCP-capable storage in autumn.
