AFidel no worries. M365 are supported during mainstream support. This means 5 years after release.
Having Software Assurance on Windows Server or Windows Server CSP Subscription is certainly a useful and license economic choice. This also opens the door for the cheapest way to adopt Azure Stack HCI, as the active CPU core per month costs are reduced to 0, aswell as you would be gaining Azure Hybrid rights.

Independent Azure Stack HCI is still a great plattform, even if you do not need to use AVD, because of many unique functional features, easy management of single and multiple clusters and licensing benefits compared to Windows Server 2022 / 2025 and other competitor products.
