Not a major concern for me as I can nuke this anytime but interesting. I will reinstall it from the latest image if it starts automatically shutting down.

Microsoft’s announcement for Windows Server vNext Preview build 29621 says it expires September 15, 2026, not August 11. Run winver and confirm the build, edition, and displayed expiration date. You may be running an older preview image whose evaluation period ends sooner. Build 29531 established the preview baseline, and Microsoft says earlier builds are unsupported. Back up workloads, obtain the current Windows Server Insider Preview ISO or VHDX, and move to a supported preview; use a clean installation if your build is below the supported upgrade baseline. Do not keep production services on an expiring Insider build. Microsoft has not published a guaranteed date for the next build, so there is no reliable release schedule to confirm.
