Windows Server 2022: search in file contents

At a customer of mine, we recently migrated to Windows Server 2022. Installed the Search service and added the right folders to the indexing options. However, the client computers are not able to find any indexed PDF files if looking for content, with the old Windows Server 2016 that wasn't a problem. Also searching for file content on the server itself doesn't work(even with Adobe Acrobat Reader installed)

 

Looking for content in text files or Word Documents work perfectly.

 

In the Advanced Options on the server I selected the option "Index Properties and File Contents" for PDF Extensions. Already rebuilt Index, but not working. When opening the PDF, we can select the text, so it

    nielsscheldeman Check under "Filter Types to see if the pdf shows "Reader Search Handler".

    If not, you might want to unchek / recheck or try adding the extension again, and another rebuild.  Start with a small folder with just a few files to test. Something awful seems to have happened with Windows Search 2K22 it is sooo sloooooowwwww.  Server 2012R2 takes 3-4 hours on spinner drives and 2K22 has been running for several days on SSD drives.  Even with backoff and pausing disabled with Group Policy tweaks.
