RDS on prem future

I know the immediate answer is it will stick around but with RemoteApps specifically, we are recognising:

1) All new development seems to be on Windows/AVD Remote Desktop apps.

2) Traditional Remote Apps do not support WHfB with Kerberos trust whereas every other application does.

I am guessing it is relying on NTLM behind the scenes and heavily relies on storing credentials locally. It isn't future proof and definitely seems a security risk keeping this 2009 product in production.

Has anyone managed to get RemoteApps working on Entra Joined devices with WHfB? And will we see the new apps support traditional RDS in the future?

Just feels very disjointed at the mo.

In case of legacy applications, moving on-premises workloads to Azure Virtual Desktop is a good option.

New applications should be designed cloud-native (serverless) because they offer better scalability (instancing), security, uptime, and a lower soft cost.
