DNS Issue - nslookup resolve to random localhost ip

Hello all, I am new here. hope there is someone will help me.

Please help me to resolve this issue.

the host domain upxxxxx.edu.my can be resolve using public DNS. but while using internal DNS it will resolve to random localhost IP.

i had restart the DNS/AD server. i made nslookup again after reboot then it appear 127.118.0.45 (other local IP address).

*this is new fresh install windows server 2022 std with AD, DHCP and DNS roles.

thank you for your help. i am very appreciate the effort.

  • atlinemy , if you still have some issue, you should try to clean the dns server. On your DNS server you should try clearing the cache DNS and scavenging data but carefull you don't need the old IP adress.

    hi atlinemy,
i think the trouble you face is the computer upikptss.edu.my exist in your local DNS with the IP 127.233.0.55. I would think maybe you create an active directory edu.my or zone DNS edu.my and in those zone DNS your computer exist with the IP 127.233.0.55.
Can you check on your local DNS or active directory ?

did you check your forwarder ?
use nslookup to check the different forwarder.

Did you delete the cache DNS, clean the old record on the DNS server ?
