Keep the known-good signed NVIDIA driver, record working and failing driver versions plus the device hardware ID, and use Device Manager’s Roll Back Driver option if the bad package returns. Temporarily enable “Do not include drivers with Windows Updates,” then retry the in-place upgrade with a clean boot. After any rollback, run SetupDiag and retain its result with the minidump and Setup logs. Report the failing package version, hardware ID, stop code, and evidence to both Microsoft Feedback Hub and NVIDIA, because Windows Update distributes a vendor-supplied package.
