Windows Update Error Code 0xc0000005

Hello, I am attempting to Update to the Windows 11 Dev Preview But I get to 100% Installing and then it freezes and gives me error code 0xc0000005.

My PC specs:

Windows 10 Pro 21h1 build 19043.1093

Ryzen 5 2600 @ 4GHz

16GB DDR4 3200 CL16

Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070

Asus Rog Strix B450 Gaming-F

Kingston 240GB SSD.

The PC heath check app says my PC is compatible as I already turned on TPM 2.0.

What is the fix for this? Please let me Know.

Things i've already tried:

rebooting (obv)

Turning off update features and clearing the SoftwareDistribution Folder.

Malware Check (no probs)

Registry Check (fixed all the problems)

Memory Diagnostic (Passed just fine)

Reinstalling Windows 10 Without losing any data.

And I am still getting the error 0xc0000005.

Any help would be Greatly Appreciated.

    Hi SethB2007 and Kiddabob.
When you started the set up for Win 11, it asked you to select an OS build with Channel? if so, what's the OS build with Channel you have selected?

AndiBird90 I'm on the Dev Channel, I am currently on build 22471.1000 and I have tried every update after the one right after it
      22471 - Current
22478 - Updated to it, Had Issues, Downgraded back to 22471
22483 to 22509 - Tried and failed on every version

  • Hello,

Please run Windows Update troubleshooter from Settings app > Update & security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters. Let us know what it reports back.

    Regards.

KapilArya Hi, I am having the same issue with Windows Update. I have made a pdf of the Troubleshooter's results from my scan.
My issue is a strange one, to begin with, as it can get to the point of restarting and then failing during the restart. However, it can only get that far if you are not watching the update in the settings app. If you are watching the update inside the app then it will just fail before/at 100%.
