Windows update error 0x80070643 for Windows 11 Pro
I'm having issues in using windows update as I'm getting error for 2021-10 .NET 5.0.11 Security Update for Windows 11 for x64 Client (KB5007051) and 2021-10 .NET Core 3.1.20 Update for Windows 11 for x64 Client (KB5007050). I've tried to reset the windows update, I've run DISM and SFC and nothing seems to fix it.
Can someone help me please?
Aditya2245 I checked the windows update today and the [corrupt] updates are replaced with new ones and it has installed all updates successfully. 🙂

- setapongCopper ContributorI downloaded .NET 6.0.1 SDK installer from this link (https://github.com/dotnet/core/blob/main/release-notes/6.0/6.0.1/6.0.1.md) and installed it. It's fixed.

Same problem windows 11
Installation error 0x80070643 2021-10 .NET Core 3.1.20 Update for Windows 11 for x64 Client (KB5007050)
Installation error 0x80070643 2021-10 .NET 5.0.11 Security Update for Windows 11 for x64 Client (KB5007051)
I Wonder if this causes the problem i see installed this update 09-11-2021-11 .NET Core 3.1.21 Update for x64 Client (KB5007885)
Its higher than the other update that cause the problem for install.?- SquidVBCopper Contributor
- SquidVBCopper Contributorhello I too had these two errors but the first
(Installation error 0x80070643 2021-10 .NET Core 3.1.20 Update for Windows 11 for x64 Client (KB5007050)) I solved it by installing the kb directly from the microsoft site: https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/ Home.aspx
Also tried with the second but the error persists
- Al3xI98OCopper ContributorSame here too!
- Shivan1Copper ContributorUsing the Visual Studio 2022 Installer to update will also fix it. (after updating with Visual Studio installer, Windows update won't show any missing update)
- madushansCopper ContributorIf you have VS 2022 (or 2019?), run the Visual Studio Installer and install any pending updates.
This update then disappears, I think due to the VS update applying it anyway.- chamillikawiCopper ContributorConfirmed!
Updating through VS Installer solves the issue.

- stempnakowskiCopper ContributorI continue to have this problem. I have Visual Studio 2022 installed and up to date. In the past, removing previous versions of .Net worked for me. This time, it starts to install, gets to 33%, and then fails. This is the second time in a row I have had problems with .Net updates. Having come from the Unix and Mac sys admin world, it seems to me that these packages don't adequately check for dependencies or installed versions? Maybe my issue will be resolved next week on Patch Tuesday. Fingers crossed.
- Al3xI98OCopper ContributorThe error is back! Unbelievable!

Al3xI98O Seems to have disappeared after Win 11 pro 1-11-2022 WUS round of updates and restarts.
No error present now.

Sammy815 I am facing the same issue with upgrading of 2021-10 .NET 5.0.11 Security Update for Windows 11 for x64 Client (KB5007051) & 2021-10 .NET Core 3.1.20 Update for Windows 11 for x64 Client (KB5007050). My system has also become slow after upgrading it to Windows 11 from windows 10. Now I cant downgrade it to windows 10.
