Windows Search Service High CPU usage

Hi there!

Edition Windows 10 Pro
Version Dev
Installed on ‎4/‎30/‎2021
OS build 21370.1
Experience Windows 10 Feature Experience Pack 321.9601.0.3

Last three flights i have experienced Win Search problem - high CPU usage. When working at notebook, all seems ok (snapshot above - while working). As soon as i afk (notebook is idle), abovementioned service starts its work, notebook's fans produce a lot of noise. When i resumes work - notebook became laggish, irresponsible for 1-1.5 minutes. Also indexing algorithms work well while notebook works on battery.

Win search settings:

If Windows Search Service stopped and disabled - everything runs smoothly, no any fan noise, no any lags (nor on plug or battery)

Win Search disabled.

Best regards.

Joshua

  • Have you tried letting it to its thing for few hours and see if it finally finishes and the CPU usage goes down?
