Windows Insider Updates will not download

I have been stuck on 22635.5015 for over a year now, not receiving nay updates. I finally started to receive updates after I switched to the Beta channel instead of the Release preview I was on, but I have been unable to install those updates. I go through the whole update process and my PC restarts, but when I get back to the desktop I see that the update failed to install.

  • Your device is now seeing Beta builds, but each upgrade completes the restart phase and then rolls back. The useful next step is to identify the rollback cause instead of repeatedly retrying. Open Settings > Windows Update > Update history and record the failed build and error code. Run Microsoft SetupDiag as administrator, then inspect %WinDir%\Logs\SetupDiag\SetupDiagResults.xml; when it reports several failures, the final one is normally fatal. Before another attempt, ensure adequate free space, disconnect nonessential USB devices, temporarily remove third-party antivirus or VPN software, install current firmware and storage or graphics drivers, and perform a clean boot. Then run DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth followed by sfc /scannow and retry. Because 22635.5015 is very old, the normal servicing path may no longer bridge cleanly. If SetupDiag confirms that, back up your data and use an official current Insider ISO for an in-place upgrade, or clean-install the intended channel.
