Windows insider program settings

On my insider setup I have 3 options regarding content I would like to recieve.

Please explain what reverted means?

Also, on Active development of windows, above that selection it says that I have an older version of windows. 

I thought the idea of being an insider was to get prerelease windows 10 and get feedback on the updates.

The other option is skip ahead to the next release.

I don't know which is the preset option, I don't want older versions and I don't know what to expect when I am reverted???

    Fall Creators Update (RS3) build 16299 is rolling out to public now.
    If you set to the Fast ring now, you will get RS4 build 17017.
