The latest build 26040 fixes problems with running Elder Scrolls Online. The game client (launcher) runs it, and the game itself - from what I can see - works properly. Congratulations on accurately targeting the source of the error.

You have to wonder if either company is even bothering to look into why eso64.exe is dying.

I think we expect too much. After reporting the described problem, I received a reply telling me to skip the insider version and go back to regular Windows. What's the point of this whole program if a report generates such a "solution".
- cgf5177Jan 13, 2024Copper ContributorYeah, I got the same "advice". Of course, if this version of Windows ever goes live then ZOS will have to fix it. FWIW, I saw some speculation that the issue is with the anticheat stuff in the game. Not that that helps us much.
- FenrisJan 14, 2024Iron ContributorIf they were actually supposed to be an anti-cheat, then the "perfect" solution was used. Because in these builds, no one will be able to log in to the game/games 😛 And this will effectively eliminate the risk of cheat 😛
