Windows 24H2 Update KB5058411 causing excessive CPU & C-Drive activity
After installing KB5058411 today, Windows real-time virus protection (Windows Defender) is consuming more processor resources (15% on an Intel Core i9 (10th Gen) and causing increased C-drive activity (70 to 100%) on an M.2 drive. Turning off Windows Virus Protection, of course, fixes the problem, but then there is no real-time virus protection. This issue (CPU and disk reads/writes) did not exist before updating. There is no way to uninstall this update. Machine has 64 G Bytes of RAM and 1 T Byte C-Drive System disk.

I got exactly the same problem. Is there a fix aside to disable the anti-malware service?
