Jan 15, 2024Windows 12 as far as i know?
As per this thread created, i got some information about Windows 12, which is:
- Windows 12 is coming about late 2024 or early 2025.
- Windows 12 is possibly already show up on Canary Channel although it is not officially confirmed.
- Several news sources say that HP give a hint if around October 2024, the Windows 11 version 24H2 (or Windows 11 2024 Update) is released, while HP is keep silent about Windows 12, which is possibly Windows 12 will be delayed a bit later after Windows 11 24H2 released.
- System requirements for Windows 12 is definitely higher than Windows 11. Windows 12 still require TPM 2, Secure Boot support, and processor that capable to use hardware accelerated VBS properly, such as processor that released on 2018 and later. Windows 12 require minimum 8 GB of ram and possibly still same 64 GB disk space, while SSD is becoming a mandatory. Actually, Windows 12 require special hardware named NPU (Neural Processing Unit) for all features in Windows 12 is working properly, but since the NPU is still very expensive to acquire (or basically you need an Intel Core Ultra 5 125U at least), so these requirements should be optional.
- Information about whether Windows 12 will be a subscription based operating system or not is still unclear, but most speculation says that Windows 12 is not required to subscribe to use.
That's it from me. If you got any more further information about Windows 12, you can share here.
Thanks to XDA that give me a big overview about Windows 12.

Windows 12 is speculated to launch in late 2025 or early 2026, with higher system requirements than Windows 11. Features may include mandatory SSDs, NPU support for advanced features, and continued TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot. Retail keys for Windows 11 Pro can be purchased at Microsoft partners like Hypes-tkey.

Let’s talk about those system requirements. Higher than Windows 11? Of course! When will these companies learn? It’s like asking your grandma for a recipe that needs rare truffles from France! “You mean I have to buy a whole new toolset just to get my computer to run?!”

Is there any official statement about Windows 12?

As you said, that Neural Processing Unit, will be a problem. I have the horsepower to run Windows 12, with an AMD Ryzen 7 and an SSD drive C:, but the AMD Ryzen 9 and it's AI capabilities are a bit far away from me now. \nThank you, for the insight! It's 2025, and no sign of '12 yet. Perhaps Darren is right with a 2027/'28, launch date.

Windows 12 needs a release date of 2027/2028. They have released Windows 11 which is already a nightmare for Home Users and Business. Whose computers why working perfect don't meet the TPM requirements. if Microsoft releases Windows 12 early to deflect the bad image Windows 11 has. They will fail miserable. Most users don't have a NPU processor in the Processors such as AMD 2000 series to 5000 or Intel 8th to 11th Gen those users won't throw good working machines away. it may drive people to Linux.
Secondly if Microsoft refuses to allow people to customise Windows as present they do. Where the users cannot unstall Apps it will fail.

Still no official news about Windows 12.

It's been suggested that Windows 12 could arrive in late 2024 or early 2025. Microsoft tends to have a rhythm where major updates roll out roughly every 18 months, so this aligns with their pattern of providing significant upgrades.

The presence of Windows 12 builds in the Canary Channel would indicate that Microsoft is actively testing new features and functionalities. The Canary Channel is known for being a testing ground for the most experimental builds, so encountering Windows 12 there would not be surprising.
