Windows 11 Update Failed, then Windows Update failed
- AnonymousJan 17, 2022
It seems that on many computers there is this problem!

I wonder if in your situation after so many attempts it may be worth waiting for a stable
Windows11 version.
And these are the currently available ISO versions
The safest form of updating, however, is Update Windows - it provides a trouble-free return to the previous version of the system and does not expose you to failure.
please think about it.

- RonLysterSep 27, 2021Brass ContributorI am in the Release Preview Channel. I downloaded what I could for that channel hoping that might help get the Windows 11 upgrade (the one that Windows Update keeps offering me but failing to install). But, as you know, I wasn't able to get that one mounted.
- _RBL_Sep 27, 2021Brass ContributorWhich version did you download?, you have to choose either Dev or Beta, (Recommend Beta) for 11
- RonLysterSep 27, 2021Brass ContributorYes. That is correct. I thought if I got the update I might then be able to get the Win 11 upgrade....
- _RBL_Sep 27, 2021Brass ContributorHey Ron, If im not mistaken there are 3 insider ISO, Beta Prievew and a dev, the dev and beta are Windows 11 and the preview is windows 10os with additional features
- AnonymousSep 27, 2021I meant to update with the help of a tool for creating multimedia it also works for many people!
- RonLysterSep 27, 2021Brass ContributorUpdates were working less than 24 hours ago, but after trying to upgrade to Windows 11 yesterday updates once again stopped working. (You reading my posts here?)
- AnonymousSep 27, 2021Yes, but if you have such problems now, I would download the update for Windows10, and Update automatically after checking and without risk to the computer will install Windows11.

Of course, I wrote about the Intel assistant.
The assistant has the highest privileges and perhaps the process does not close when trying to migrate, but other programs can also cause conflict.Whoa! If that is true, and Microsoft doesn't do something about it, there will be chaos on October 5.
I'll uninstall and re-install as you suggest. If it helps I'll make a celebratory post here. (I doubt it will, since I've never had a problem with the Intel product.)
- AnonymousSep 27, 2021Of course, I wrote about the Intel assistant.
The assistant has the highest privileges and perhaps the process does not close when trying to migrate, but other programs can also cause conflict. - RonLysterSep 27, 2021Brass ContributorI assume that on October 5 there will be media creation tools for Windows 11 too, correct? Perhaps that might be located at https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows11?

Downloading media creation tools is also a solution idea - you can update while keeping your personal files - RonLysterSep 27, 2021Brass Contributor

Then uninstall it and try to update it - write what do you think? What is "IT"? The OS? Intel's Driver Support Assistant? Something else? This isn't what "regular" Microsoft users will have to do is it?
- AnonymousSep 27, 2021Then uninstall it and try to update it - write what do you think?
- RonLysterSep 27, 2021Brass Contributor
I regularly use the Intel® Driver & Support Assistant for my NUC. It is always updated to the latest BIOS. I just checked again, and it does have the latest BIOS. (0053 // Date: 7/7/2021.)

Please try to update the BIOS - go to the support of the computer manufacturer and download the required drivers 🙂 - RonLysterSep 27, 2021Brass ContributorUnfortunately that may be the only way to go. It will be chaos if October 5 comes, the problem isn't fixed, and many more Windows 10 users than just me will have this problem....
- AnonymousSep 27, 2021Because your computer is currently working fine, so
do not force optional updates, October 5 is close! - RonLysterSep 27, 2021Brass ContributorI ran sfc /scannow and the program found errors and fixed them with a reboot. I ran sfc /scannow again and conformed all was fixed.
Ran the offered upgrade to Windows 11 again and, as before, all appeared to install BUT nothing actually happened. (This is getting boring.) I then tried doing a simple update and guess what? The update failed. (I thought that was fixed.) Same old 0xc1900101 error. Retried the simple update (not the upgrade) several times - no luck, still the old error code. Just to check and see, I once again ran sfc /scannow and found no errors there. - AnonymousSep 27, 2021And you've watered the attempt to repair system files? https://windowsloop.com/how-to-use-sfc-scannow-command-to-repair-fix-windows-10/#:~:text=Open%20the%20Command%20Prompt%20window.%20Type%20%E2%80%9C%20SFC,and%20run%20the%20SFC%20%2Fscannow%20command%20from%20there.
