Microsoft could improve the taskbar's behavior so that when switching desktops, the desktop name label appears above the taskbar or does not cover the taskbar area.
I think they should offset the label y-position by the taskbar height (whether visible or not). This number could compute at runtime or whenever there is any change to the visual properties of the taskbar (like display changes, property changes) for the primary taskbar (to handle multi monitor situations).
A bit of work for something relatively minor but the polish is worth it.
