Windows 11 Start and Taskbar feedback
As a developer, I also find it unacceptable to cripple the taskbar like this.
For me, one of the most important features was the ability to pin custom folders as menus to the taskbar. This allowed me to keep my shortcuts readily accessible, organized by topic. Currently, I've managed to organize my desktop icons thematically, but quick access isn't possible because I have to minimize a lot of windows to access them. I also still have to search through dozens of icons to find the shortcut I need (and they're not sortable).
Additionally, it's no longer possible to create custom groups for important links in the Start menu. This makes finding the desired link more difficult the more links you have there. You also can't sort the pinned links yourself.
Since I primarily use my computer for business, third-party tools are unfortunately out of the question due to security concerns and restrictions.
Let me put it bluntly:
It was bad enough that in Windows Explorer of Windows 10 soft links are replaced with hard links in Quick Access (renaming the "link" in Quick Access renames the actual folder name), but now making the Start menu and taskbar inflexible doesn't demonstrate innovation, it's a throwback to the Stone Age of computing. Even Windows 98 was more flexible when it came to the taskbar.
Since they say only every second version of Windows is a good version, as a professional user, I'm eagerly awaiting Windows 12, hoping that it will finally bring a better operating system for innovative work.
