Windows 11 multi monitor taskbar not working properly
- Feb 29, 2020
Hi,
This is called Omnibox (also called Address bar) and you've already been using it all the time
The Omnibox is similar to the traditional web browser address bar, but you can also use it like a search engine. you get search suggestions, you can see website's address, you can paste full URLs in it. basically it's the key to the world wide web and every modern browser now has one.
Steps to get the Taskbar working on 2nd display monitor:
1. Go to Taskbar settings.
2. Expand Taskbar behaviors submenu.
3. There will be a checkbox on option- Show my taskbar on all displays with further down menu to select where do you want to show it.
4. Uncheck the checkbox and check it again.
It just removes the taskbar on 1st uncheck and it kind of refreshes the taskbar and all the icons are displayed now.
NOTE: I have not restarted my computer as of now, so I don't know if it will be there after restart or not. But doing it again will not be a hassle.
I hope it helps 🙂
@nishant2811. It worked in the current session only. If I restart my laptop, it just show some icon. I can see the taskbar is there when I hoover over it, I can see an outline of the icon and I can click to run the app. Hopefully someone in MS is taking this one in their next patch. It's annoying as I use a big screen switching between 2 laptop and it works perfect on my Win10 laptop.

nishants2811 I'm in the same situation. If I start my laptop and monitor at the same time, it works OK. However I use a hdmi switch to connect the monitor to my work laptop running win10. If I swap between these 2, the monitor do shows the taskbar and I can see the outline of the icon when I hoover over it but not showing the icon. It's not end of the world but small thing like this should be all tested well before it is released.
