Windows 11 multi monitor taskbar not working properly
The Windows 11 multi monitor taskbar is not working properly. The taskbar is visible on the secondary monitors but seems to have little functionality or is "broken". Tested this on multiple systems.
If using: "When using multiple displays, show my taskbar apps on" has no effect with any setting.
This is a "known" issue with the release. It's noted on the release notes.

- wgrovesBrass ContributorSame issue nearly 2 years later, but the calendar opens fine on the 2nd monitor for my Win10 desktop. Every "upgrade" strips out old features that worked fine for new ones that offer half the functionality and require connecting a MSFT account, if there's even a new version at all. What a joke of an OS.

wgroves Same, I still have this issue as well. Also, sometimes even the main Taskbar will bug out and I cannot hover over any apps to see the windows that they have open. The preview of open windows will just flicker. The search is also horrible, it is super slow and will straight up freeze on a high end AMD and Nvidia system. The OS is really bad and I regret upgrading early from 10. With the progress the Linux community has made with game support, I might go back to Arch.
- FB_in_SingasCopper ContributorPernille-Eskebo - is this going to be fixed? WIN11 is a tiresome "upgrade", more clicks to do same things. Unfortunately company policy and so no option to revert to more productive Win10.

PeteGomersall I have the same issue.

In the last few days my extended display screen and main laptop screen don't seem to be propersly working. The default icons showing internet, battery, etc are only showing on my #2 screen. Only the time and date show on the main screen of the laptop.
How do I change this?
- Temple-FitzhughCopper ContributorTaskbar will not display on second monitor. Newest Windows 11 build.

Last night I had taskbar displayed on both monitors. This morning the second monitor no longer can display the taskbar. I have set it to all displays under personalization and Extend these displays set under System/Display.
It is broken. I can check the registry setting at Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\MMTaskBarEnabled = 1 and it just does not have any effect changing it to zero, reboot. Set it back to 1, reboot. The taskbar is just not displaying. - Temple-FitzhughCopper ContributorSame issue here but I am running build

PeteGomersall I have the same problem. Windows 11. Last night my taskbar was displayed on both monitors. This morning, suddenly, I have no task bar on second monitor. I have set it to 'Show my taskbar on all displays' checked but that check box is not operative. you can clear it. re boot. select it again. No change. No task bar on secondary monitor.

Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22000.918.0 - DevMarc210Copper ContributorA Microsoft rep fixed the problem on my laptop...it seems that the Security Update that begins with KB is the issue...he uninstalled it, and now everything is okay. He also paused my automatic Windows Updates for 5 weeks, in the hopes that Microsoft will fix the problem.

DevMarc210, would you be so kind as to be more precise on which "KB" security update it was? My situation is running 3 32" Samsung G5's in Nvidia Surround (so the 3 combined show as Monitor #1) and the Taskbar acts like the far right monitor is the "main" monitor. If I choose "Centered" it is centered on that monitor, choose "Left" and it is on the left side of that monitor. As the 3 are 1 7680x1440 monitor in Win11 I have no idea how this is happening..

- TxDave661Copper ContributorInstalled the 2022-01 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 for x64-based Systems (KB5008353) this morning and all taskbars are working properly on all three of my monitors. They are auto hiding and popping up when I drag my curser down to the bottom of any screen. I do not need to right click or hit the windows key.
- WiesshundBrass ContributorSo far, this last update seems to have fixed the 2nd screen taskbar issues
I dont see it mentioned in the update notes, but it seems they have addressed it, time will tell but so far it is working.- JoetheCounselorCopper ContributorWell I'll be darned. It IS working! I say that with regard to my vertical orientation secondary. I can now open the taskbar and it auto hides on the second monitor. Windows key still opens the main monitor, though. Let's hope it keeps on.
- witixCopper ContributorHad the same issue with the current version. Opening the Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) and restarting Windows Explorer permanently fixed the issue for me.

Same issue two years later and this trick solved the issue for me. Thanks!
