Windows 11 keeps changing my brightness setting

Hi. First post here. I seem to be having a weird issue where Windows 11 keeps changing my brightness from what I set it to. I'm using Windows 11 Home 24H2 on a laptop. An ASUS TUF Gaming F15 to be exact.

Hi there, I have seen this issue before on ASUS laptops running Windows 11 and here is what could be happening

    Automatic Brightness Adjustments

Windows 11 and some GPU drivers like Intel, AMD, or NVIDIA can automatically change brightness to save power or adapt to ambient light. On ASUS laptops, tools like MyASUS or Armoury Crate may also adjust brightness automatically. To fix this, go to Settings then System then Display and turn off Change brightness automatically when lighting changes. Check your Intel Graphics Command Center or AMD Radeon Software for features like Display Power Saving Technology or Vari-Bright and disable them. Also make sure Night Light and HDR are turned off.

    Keyboard vs Hardware

If your brightness keys work normally and increase or decrease fully, your keyboard is fine. The issue is usually software or driver related, not the keyboard. A stuck brightness often happens because Windows or ASUS software overrides manual settings and it is rarely a hardware failure.

    Power Plan Settings

Go to Control Panel then Power Options then Change plan settings and turn off adaptive brightness in advanced settings for both battery and plugged in modes.

Most brightness issues are caused by adaptive brightness settings, drivers, or ASUS software rather than hardware or keyboard problems. After disabling automatic adjustments your brightness should stay where you set it.
