Windows 11 Insider Preview Quality Update
Unable to install Windows 11 Insider Preview Quality Update 26300.8289 in Windows 11 Pro Insider 25H2 26300.8276 with error-0x800f0922. Already performed all steps with consumer support but still the same.
I removed Malwarebytes and did selective start up and for the 5th time the update failed 0x8007042B - 0x2000Dthe installation failed in the SAFE OS phase with an error during MIGRATE DATA operation. ls what it states. rebuilt Windows update, BITS did DISM and restorehealth and sfc. Please hel

The issue has been resolved. Let me be clear I have a Asus Prime Z590M-Plus mobo, I decided to check the BIOS, it was up to date 1801 since 2022 with no update since then. so I went into AI Tweaker and Advanced and enabled every thing, so I cannot say what actually worked. but after the restart l retried the update and it competed with out problems or issues, updating to 26300.8276 to 26300.8493. YEAH BABY :) Thank you ScrollZsilva for your advice, which I followed prior to enabling things in Tweaker and Advanced.

Error 0x800f0922 and SAFE_OS / MIGRATE_DATA failures are usually related to system partition issues, driver conflicts, or something blocking the upgrade during the early boot phase.
Since you already tried DISM, SFC, and resetting update components, here are a few more things to check:
- System Reserved / EFI partition space
- Make sure it has enough free space (this error is often linked to low space there)
- Disconnect unnecessary devices
- Remove USB devices, external drives, etc. before updating
- Check for incompatible drivers
- Look at logs in:
C:\$WINDOWS.~BT\Sources\Panther\setuperr.log - MIGRATE_DATA failures are often caused by drivers or data conflicts
- Look at logs in:
- Disable security software completely
- Even after uninstalling, some remnants can interfere
- Try upgrading using ISO (in-place upgrade)
- This sometimes bypasses update-related issues
If the failure happens specifically during SAFE_OS phase, it usually means something is blocking the system during the upgrade boot stage (often drivers or disk-related issues).
