Its_aftab This fix from Windows for the specific code (0xc8000402) suggests that should run dism /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup in CMD as Admin.
- Vedamithra9621Copper ContributorIt showed that update status unknown. Then I clicked on pause update for 1 week then immediately clicked on resume updates. Then it started downloading and installing the updates

If you are doing insiders install you probs not a beginner.
Open Event Viewer, find the Application Log entry for the upgrade process, it should list a bunch of log files, open the top Setup log file, scroll to the bottom and fix all the ERROR entries.
Near the bottom, it will tell you why it aborted the install. I had the same issue, in my log it told me I have some duplicate account without a profile so I just deleted that in the registry and I am good. You can google all the issues that will appear in the log and fix them.
Uncle Bill is relying on you to fix your problem, as he has already given you all the tools 😄

- RonLysterBrass ContributorSimilar issue here. Running Windows 10 Pro Version 21H1 OS Build 19043.1165. Daily updates fail to upgrade to Windows 11 Preview with the suggestion, "There were some problems installing updates, but we'll try again later. If you keep seeing this and want to search the web or contact support for information, this may help: (0xc1900101)." I've run SFC /Scannow, which reports that it found and fixed errors, but no help for the Windows 11 Preview installation. No other clues are provided (at least none that I know about).

Hello
There is currently a beta and Dev channel only release.
Preview has Windows10 as I see you have the latest update that works stably.- RonLysterBrass ContributorYes, I was on the Beta Channel. (I just changed to the release preview channel in an attempt to avoid all the failed upgrades.)

Hi All, -->>Here the solution.<<-
I was too facing the same errors of failed installing on Surface Go2 M3 even after installing all available updates from update center.
After keep trying, I noticed my system has Windows 1909 release, and when I checked further there were many more stanalone release available in microsoft site. So I given the change and updage my release from 1909 to 21H1.
Next, when I again tried, Win11 sucessfully got installed.- DougM56Copper Contributor
I dont know what an updage is but Ive never had a failed install od windows 11.
