Windows 11 Insider Preview Feature Update (26220.7653) is giving me the install error 0xc1900101

I have tried clearing the old Windows update folder, and Windows troubleshoot won't work.

My os version is:

OS version: 24H2 - 26120.6972

Last update that worked was:

Windows 11 Insider Preview Feature Update (26220.7523)

I had a similar problem with 0xc1900101 on insider builds. It helped to temporarily disable third-party antivirus software and all unnecessary drivers (especially VPN and virtual network adapters), as well as manually update the chipset and video card drivers. I also recommend checking sfc /scannow and DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth before trying the update again — after that, the update installed without error.

Open Device Manager (press Windows + X, then select Device Manager). Right-click on critical devices (display adapters, network adapters, storage controllers) and select Update driver. Visit your hardware manufacturer's website for the latest drivers, especially for graphics and chipset drivers.
