Windows 11 Home - laptop came with PIN access, how do I use face and password?
New Windows 11 Home laptop came with 4-digit PIN - can I change it to use password and face recognition as alternatives? If so, how, please?
Yes, you can set up password and face recognition as alternatives to the PIN on your Windows 11 Home laptop. Here's how to do it:
1. Set Up a Password:
Go to Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options.
Under Password, click Add (if no password is set) or Change to update an existing password.
2. Enable Face Recognition (Windows Hello):
In the same Sign-in options menu, find Facial recognition (Windows Hello).
Click Set up and follow the prompts to configure face recognition.
Ensure your laptop has a compatible camera (IR or Windows Hello-enabled).
3. Switch Between Sign-In Methods:
At the login screen, click Sign-in options below the PIN entry field.
Select either Password or Face recognition as your preferred method. This allows you to use the PIN, password, or face recognition for added flexibility!
