Yes, customizability should always be an option for the users.
There is feedback posted in the feedback hub about this, if users want to view, upvote and comment on it over there. Use this link - https://aka.ms/AAd2ifw

- dougcwbCopper ContributorThis is by far the worst decision made to w11

Add another vote to ungroup the programs in the task bar. Also, let us resize the taskbar as we did in windows 10. Deleted
- Meanwhile it is one the most upvoted single items in feedback hub, but there is no change announced in Insider.
- DeletedYes , but changing the location of the taskbar - it will definitely be restored, 40%
users are waiting for it - there are those who for this reason until 2025 will work in Windows10

Deleted Horrible, horrible decision. It takes five seconds after upgrading to W11 to run into this issue and hate the entire thing. Haven't even used it yet, but the dice is cast and my mind made. This is such a blunder, it erases any potential gain from the upgrade. The task bar needs to have the ability to ungroup. Period. A disaster that should have been caught during the first ten seconds of testing.

Please remember that you have a few days to recover Windows10 - sometimes you need to think about it by 2025 will be supported by Microsoft!

It is extremely unproductive to remove ability to ungroup windows. HORRIBLE DECISION WITHOUT ASKING THE CUSTOMER.
- samjomaaCopper ContributorThis is a stunning misstep by MS to remove this option. Forever docking the taskbar to the left of the screen had been my preferred option. The reason is very simple, the screen is always wider than its height. Developers need to work around the issues and bring this option back.
- LDillingerCopper ContributorI agree, not being able to move the taskbar to the left side ( I keep it there in Windows 10) makes it very difficult to see the whole screen on a 15" laptop. Using full screen is not always practical. I hope that Microsoft in all of its wisdom changes the ability to move the taskbar around.
- the ability to move the taskbar is not a single switch.
They have redesigned the taskbar technically, albeit it is still tied with explorer.exe, quite unfortunately, I am sure they will get rid of these old shell stuff.
- aznkenshinxCopper ContributorI support this ask. Please allow this to happen. No more grouping has been very detrimental.

aznkenshinx Use the Outlook menu bar Help option and use the Suggest a Feature to send the requests to Microsoft.

Deleted yes please restore the ungroup items on the taskbar

Please bring back the option to "ungroup" items on the task bar! Having to alt/tab through 15-20 windows at a time is severely time-consuming.

Mykie1971 While I definitely do not have as many grouped task bar items as you do, I agree that the option needs to be restored. Make sure that you also send this request to Microsoft sing one of the previously mentioned methods.

Hi all, thank you very much for your support, there is a chance that users will be able to change the location of the taskbar - surely you still need to report it to Microsoft as a suggestion!
This is the best way:

I have used the Help option on the menu bar and used the Suggest a Feature to let them know I was not happy that this very useful feature in Windows 10 was removed in Windows 11.
