Why inside my WindowsApps folder for each program directory they have 2 version of them?

I just noticed that inside the WindowsApp folder, for almost all programs folder there are two of them. Like one of them is the newest version and the other one is older version. Both have identical file size.

I uninstall Spotify and only the newest version one that got deleted while the other stays. Is this normal in windows 11?

Windows stores different versions of the app to facilitate updates, rollbacks, or repairs without removing the entire app. Sometimes, the older version remains temporarily after the app updates or is uninstalled, especially if the uninstall process doesn't clean up everything immediately.

This is the standard update process; I recommend keeping the backup in case you need to revert the changes.

Having both folders with identical file sizes might indicate that the older version hasn't been fully removed or that the folders are just copies from the update process. It's generally safe to delete the older version folders if you're sure the program is no longer installed or needed, but make sure the app is fully uninstalled first.
