Why are my drive colors suddenly darker?
Please don't let this be part of some new windows update.
Updating or rolling back your graphics driver can fix visual glitches. If your drivers are outdated or corrupted, it might affect how colors and icons display.

Yes, its the recent windows update. This color update KB5055627 was released on April 25, 2025.

As far as I know, this is indeed part of a new update. So far no idea if they are gonna bring the old colours back in a later update.
