Where can I find Windows 8 product key after reinstall?
If your machine has been updated or if there were modifications to how Windows is installed, the key might not be retrievable via that command. Sometimes, the key's tucked away in the BIOS, and that command might not show it.
That command often only works for OEM systems (i.e., those that came pre-installed with Windows). If you bought a digital copy or upgraded, it might not yield anything.
Just because you've linked your Windows 8 to a Microsoft account doesn’t guarantee the key will be there. Sometimes, if the licensing information wasn’t stored properly, you’re outta luck. When logging in to your Microsoft account, it can feel like searching for a needle in a haystack. You might have to dig through a bunch of digital products and past purchase history to find the right info, and there's a chance you'll not find Windows 8 product key at all.
If you're not cautious when navigating to sites or even using unofficial methods to retrieve your key, you could inadvertently expose your account to phishing attempts. Always be sure the links are legit, especially if it involves your Microsoft account.
