What Is the "Windows Modules Installer" Process in Windows 11 That Is Using 600MB of Memory?
A process named "Windows Modules Installer" has appeared in the system, with its memory usage abnormally increasing to over 600MB (subsequently dropping to about 345MB, still considered high). This phenomenon was not observed before. Need clarification on the specific function of this process (whether it is a Windows update component) and how to stop or limit its memory usage when it is not necessary, to avoid continuous impact on system performance.

The process is involved in the installation of Windows updates, including security patches, feature updates, and driver updates.

When Windows is downloading, installing, or configuring updates, the Windows Modules Installer runs in the background, which can cause high memory and CPU usage temporarily.
