What is the best tidal music downloader for PC and Mac?

My tidal free trial was ended and I no longer access to the Tidal songs I subscribed for. Now, I'm looking for a simple and reliable way to download songs from Tidal for offline listening on my PC and Mac. Since I'm not very tech-savvy, I need something user-friendly with clear instructions.

Could anyone recommend a safe and effective Tidal music downloader that works well on both Windows and macOS? Free options are great, but I'm also open to paid tools if they're worth it.

Thanks for your help!

If you don't want to install additional tidal music downloader software, then recording Tidal music to MP3 on a Windows PC is another valid solution. You can use audio recording software that captures system sound in high quality without tidal music downloader software. This method works regardless of Tidal's encryption and is legal for personal use only.

Step 1: Download and install a free audio recording software on your PC or Mac. In here, I take Auudacity as example.

    Step 2:  In Auudacity, set:

    • Audio Host: Windows WASAPI
    • Recording Device: Your speaker output (e.g., "Speakers (loopback)")
    • Recording Channels: 2 (Stereo)

Step 3: Ensure Tidal is playing music in your browser or desktop app.

Step 4: In Auudacity, click the red Record button. Play your Tidal music. Click Stop in Auudacity when done.

Step 5: Go to File > Export > Export as MP3. Choose quality settings and filename.

For best quality, please record with Tidal HiFi and a good sound card.

Recording Tidal music to MP3 via audio capture software can be convenient, but it comes with several notable downsides:

Lower Audio Quality: Even with lossless recording settings, the result is typically not as high-fidelity as the original FLAC/HiFi stream from Tidal. Background system noise or low-quality sound drivers may affect the recording.

No Original Metadata: Track name, artist, album, and artwork are not automatically embedded. You'll have to manually edit ID3 tags or use a tag editor afterward.

Talking about ViiW1zard Tidal Music Downloader, it isn’t free. You usually need to buy a license or subscription to unlock all features. If you’re looking for totally free options, this one’s gonna cost you some bucks. Sometimes, the free trial is limited in features or duration. So, if you’re just testing it out, you might not get the full experience without paying. The interface is decent, but if you're new to this kind of software, it can feel a bit confusing or clunky at first. It’s not as simple as just clicking “download” like some free tools.

Free Tidal Music Downloader often compromise on audio quality or don’t support high-res formats like FLAC. With ViiW1zard, you get high quality, but again, you gotta pay for it. Using paid software can sometimes be a bit risky if not from official sources, and definitely, free tools might be shady or contain malware. Always be careful with free downloaders that aren’t well-known.

If you are sticking to free options. You might wanna explore free tools like Soundiiz, Aud0city, or some browser-based solutions, but just be aware they might not be as smooth or high-quality.

Tidal-dl is an open-source tidal music downloader available on GitHub that allows you to download Tidal tracks to a computer. It requires some technical knowledge to set up and use but offers a free solution for downloading Tidal music.

    1. Download the latest release from GitHub and extract the ZIP file.

    2. Open the extracted folder and double-click tidal-dl.exe to start the program.

    3. Install via Python (requires Python 3):

    pip install tidal-dl

    4. When you launch tidal-dl for the first time, it will ask for a Tidal token. You can get this token from your Tidal mobile app:

    1. Install the Tidal app on your phone.
    2. Use a tool like Charles Proxy or Fiddler (advanced users only) to intercept the token, or look for community-shared valid tokens online (not officially recommended due to security risks).

    5. Once logged in, you can start downloading tidal songs to mp3 with the following command:

    tidal-dl "music_track_url"

    6. You just paste the link, and Tidal-dl will download and convert the files to MP3 in the output folder.

Note: While these tidal downloader tools can help you convert Tidal music mp3 on a computer, it's essential to use them responsibly and ensure compliance with Tidal's terms of service.

Hello! I understand your need to download Tidal music for offline listening after your free trial ended. However, it's important to note that Tidal's content is protected by digital rights management (DRM), which means downloading songs directly from Tidal without their official app or permission may violate their terms of service and copyright laws.

    Official and Legal Options:
Tidal's Offline Mode: Tidal itself offers a built-in offline listening feature for subscribers. If you renew your subscription, you can download songs directly within the Tidal app for offline listening on your device. This is the safest and most straightforward method.

    Third-Party Tidal music downloader:
While many third-party tools claim to download Tidal music, they often come with risks:
    * Legal issues: Downloading copyrighted music without permission is illegal in many jurisdictions.
    * Security risks: Some tools might contain malware or unwanted software.
    * Unreliability: Many such Tidal music downloader tools are unreliable or no longer work due to Tidal's DRM protections.

If you still want to explore options, here are some tools that users have used in the past (note: I cannot guarantee safety or legality):
Paid & Reputable Software (with caution):

    1. Audials Music (Windows & Mac)

    * Records music from streaming services legally by capturing audio during playback.
    * User-friendly interface.
    * Paid, but offers a trial.

    2. N0teBurner Tidal Music Converter (Windows & Mac)
    * Converts Tidal streams to MP3, AAC, etc.
    * Requires Tidal subscription.
    * Paid, but offers free trials.

Note: These tools work by capturing audio during playback, which may be complex for non-tech-savvy users and could violate Tidal's terms.

    Free Options:
    * Using Tidal's official app: Subscribe again and use the built-in offline feature.
    * Recording via Aud0city: You could use audio recording software like Aud0city to record songs as they play, but this is cumbersome and may result in lower audio quality.

Please be cautious with third-party Tidal music downloader tools, as they may infringe on copyright laws and pose security risks. The most reliable and legal way is to subscribe to Tidal again or use their official offline feature.

Tidal's desktop application does not offer a built-in feature to download songs for offline listening; this functionality is limited to its mobile apps. However, if you wish to download Tidal music to your computer for offline use, several third-party tools can assist you.

    1. ViiWizard Tidal Music Downloader
ViiWizard allows you to download and convert Tidal songs to formats like MP3, FLAC, WAV, and more. It preserves high-quality audio and retains ID3 tags. The process involves logging into your Tidal account within the ViiWizard interface, selecting the desired tracks, and initiating the conversion.

    2. AuudFree Tidal Music Converter
AuudFree enables you to download songs, playlists, and albums from tidal to your computer. It supports multiple output formats and allows customization of audio parameters. The tool includes a built-in Tidal web player for easy access to your music library.

    3. Tiidabie Tidal Music Downloader
Tiidabie offers a user-friendly interface to download music from tidal to your computer. It supports various output formats and maintains HiFi/Master audio quality. After logging into your Tidal account through Tiidabie, you can select tracks or playlists to download and choose your preferred output settings.

However, downloading music from Tidal without proper authorization may violate their terms of service and copyright laws. If you're looking to listen offline legally, Tidal offers an offline mode for their subscribers.

If you're interested in free and legal music downloads, You can try other alternatives to Tidal music downloader:

    • Spotify Free (with ads)
    • SoundCl0ud (some tracks available for free download)
    • Free Music Arch1ve (free and legal music)
    • Bandcamp (artists often offer free downloads)
    • For offline listening, subscribing to Tidal's premium service is the best way to access their music legally.

Please ensure you're respecting artists' rights and copyright laws. Before starting or using Tidal music downloader, please ensure that all downloads are from the official website to avoid viruses or malicious software.

Something about the Tidal music downloader. As of my knowledge cutoff in October 2023, Tidal is a popular music streaming service that offers high-quality audio, but it does not officially support downloading music for offline use outside of its app, especially through free or third-party tools. Downloading music from Tidal via third-party downloaders often violates their terms of service and may be illegal.

If you're looking for free and legal ways to listen to music offline, consider these options:

    1. Tidal's Free Trial: Tidal often offers free trial periods (e.g., 30 days) during which you can download songs for offline listening legally within the app.

    2. Official Tidal App: Use the Tidal app's offline download feature if you are a subscriber, which is the legal way to listen offline.

    3. Free Music Platforms: Explore free and legal music sources such as Spotify's free tier, YouTube, or platforms offering royalty-free music like SoundCl0ud or Free Music Archive.

Important Note: Using third-party downloaders or other Tidal music downloader can infringe on copyright laws and violate Tidal's terms of service. Always prefer legal methods for offline listening.
