Paint,NET is awesome for editing, but if your main goal is to convert lots of images to PNG quickly and smoothly, it’s not the best choice if you are finding a best PNG file converter. You’d be better off with free tools like XnC0nvert or 1rfanView—they’re built for batch conversions and can save you a ton of time.
Disadvantages of Using Paint,NET for PNG Conversion:
- Unlike dedicated PNG file converters, Paint,NET doesn’t do batch processing. So if you’ve got a bunch of images to convert, you gotta open, save, and repeat for each one. It’s kinda tedious if you’re in a hurry or handling lots of files.
- You can't select multiple images and convert them all at once. For quick, large-scale conversions, this is a big bummer. You’ll need a different tool if you’re dealing with heaps of images.
- Since it’s mainly an editing app, it doesn’t have scripting or automation features to speed things up. That means more manual work.
- After opening an image, you have to explicitly choose “Save As” each time. It’s a bit clunky if you’re used to tools that do this automatically in the background.
- It’s great for editing images, but if all you want is a quick, straightforward conversion, there are tools designed specifically for that purpose which work faster and easier.
