What "encrypt" is supposed to do? No password required to view the content
I saved this file to OneDrive which syncs to my laptop, and clicked on the “encrypt file” option (see attached screenshot). I thought when you do this, the file should not be possible to open from another computer, however, I can open it without a problem on my iPad (it opens in the iPadOS version of Office when I click on it in the files app). Do I misunderstand what clicking "encrypt" is supposed to do?

So, you decided to encrypt a file on OneDrive. First of all, great job trying to be secure! You’re like a digital security guard—you've got your shades on and your badge hanging out of your pocket. But let me tell you, this encryption business is a lot like putting a "Do Not Disturb" sign on your door and then leaving the door unlocked. It's like, why even bother?
The encrypt option makes the file unreadable by any malicious actors.
