VSS Error During Image Creation

I've updated a number of systems to 24H2 without any issues. Just updated my wife's laptop and when I try to create an image with Macrium Reflect I'm getting a VSS error (Failed to create Volume Snapshot - Failed 0x8004230f !dispatch error #8463).

I know this is a system problem not a Macrium problem, but I also tried Hasleo and that won't work either (vss error).

I changed VSS service from manual to automatic,, re-registered the VSS service, and rebooted several times. I tried to run system file checker, but it simply opens and immediately closes. So far everything else seems to be working fine.

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.

Microsoft's VSS is only able to perform one snapshot at a time. If a snapshot is already in progress when your backup job starts, the backup job could fail. Stopping and restarting the Volume Shadow Copy service can resolve this problem. To do this, open an elevated command prompt or PowerShell window and run the following commands:

    net stop vss
    net start vss
