Update for Microsoft windows is not up to date

I had the same problem... but just fixed it
1. Windows key + R
2. Type in the box "msconfig" and hit enter
3. Click on Normal Startup and then OK
4. Open the turn windows features on or off window
5. Enable everything in the Windows Process Activation Service section and the .NET Frameworks. I've disabled the DirectPlay legacy component not actually knowing about it.
6. Restart your PC and check for new updates
