How to control iPhone from Mac? One result describes a free method using an app called Keypad (free for one device) combined with QuickTime for audio. This allows keyboard-based control of your iPhone from your Mac. However:
- It's keyboard-only (no mouse/trackpad control)
- Requires the in-app purchase for mouse support
- Audio routing introduces delay (250-300ms)
- Uses QuickTime's recording feature as a workaround
Since iPhone Mirroring is the only free Apple-provided solution for full mouse/keyboard control if you want to control iPhone from Mac, I'd strongly recommend troubleshooting it instead of abandoning it. Most connection issues can be fixed by:
- Ensuring both devices are on the same Wi-Fi with Bluetooth enabled
- Keeping your iPhone locked during connection attempts
- Disabling any active VPNs
- Revoking access in iPhone Mirroring settings and setting it up fresh
