The new toolbar in Windows 11
I notice that in Windows 11 it is no longer possible (yet) to create a sub toolbar in the toolbar for easy access to "This Computer, address, links, desktop, etc. " I'm going to miss that, because I...

If you're referring to the System Tray Menu app mentioned above there's an option under setting to run on a single click...works the same as the old desktop tray menu.

I want to make sure were are talking about the same thing
I have a folder of executables that I want to create a task bar sub-toolbar for.
To achieve this in Windows 10, I:
1. Right-click on the task bar
2. select "Toolbars" => "New Toolbar..." from the menu
3. Browse to and select the folder containing my executables.
From that point on a symbol >> appears on my task bar just to the left of the tray; and when I click on it I get a pop up sub-toolbar listing all the executables as menu options. A single click launches the selected executable.
I do not see a way to create the equivalent sub-toolbar in Windows 11.
If I am missing something please could you provide step by step instructions for achieving the same, or a link to such instructions.
thanks!

- hanghtt3Oct 25, 2023Copper ContributorI find an alternative solution that keep the same functionality. You search the " simple task menu" app on the Microsoft store. I am using it. It is good
- reggie2020Nov 18, 2021Copper ContributorAhhh, you're asking about Windows 10 functionality. This thread is about the removal of the ability to have a desktop sub-toolbar in Windows 11 and my comments above are about a new app which recreates that function.
- Richard60Nov 18, 2021Brass ContributorI'm not sure what you mean?
I am using Windows 11 and I am very much asking how to achieve the equivalent of the Windows 10 task bar sub-toolbar functionality.- reggie2020Nov 18, 2021Copper Contributor
Then I'm sorry, I really am at a loss as to what the issue is you're having. In your msg you are describing the process as on Windows 10 and these steps are available in the SystemTrayMenu app that's in the MS store, I have achieved the same outcome you described on my Win11 PC. You can see the doco here with a GIF showing the menu and sub menu action and the config options are all available within the app menu.
