The best way to transfer videos from iPhone to PC
I recently switched to using a Windows 10 PC and am still getting familiar with how everything works. I have a lot of videos on my iPhone that I'd like to transfer to my PC for backup and easier access. Since I'm not very experienced with tech, I’m looking for a simple and reliable way to transfer videos from iPhone to PC without losing any quality or running into complications.
Could someone please guide me through the process step-by-step? Should I use iTunes, the Photos app, or another method? Are there any settings on my iPhone or PC I need to adjust beforehand? How can I ensure all videos are transferred without missing any?
Thank you so much for your patience and help!

Before transferring videos from iPhone to PC. Always keep your iTunes (or if you’re using another transfer method, like Windows Photos) updated! If you forget this, your PC might struggle to recognize your device or might not transfer files properly. Go to the Microsoft Store or Apple’s website to grab the latest version.
There are tons of ways to transfer videos from iPhone to PC, like using File Explorer, iTunes, or even cloud services like OneDrive. I’ve had a couple of mishaps with File Explorer where I got lost in folders. I recommend using the Windows Photos app – it’s pretty straightforward and does a good job of keeping things organized.
Final Tips:
- USB Cable Quality: Use a good-quality USB cable. Cheap cables can sometimes cause issues.
- Use Windows Explorer: Open File Explorer > Find your device under “This PC” > open the DCIM folder to grab your videos.
- Restarts Help: If things are acting weird, a quick reboot of both your iPhone and PC can sometimes work wonders.
Make sure your PC has enough storage to accommodate the videos. I’ve ended up running out of space mid-transfer before. Just check your storage settings on Windows (you can do this by going to Settings > System > Storage) and make sure you’ve got enough room for your videos!
