The best way to remove watermark from video from my PC?

Hello everyone,

I'm currently working on a video project and have encountered an issue with a watermark that I need to remove. The source video bumped into a pesky watermark that's ruining the look. Honestly, I'm pretty new to video editing and have no idea where to start when it comes to removing watermarks without messing up the quality.

I heard there are a lot of tech experts in here and want to know if anyone could provide suggestions to remove watermark from video? Additionally, if there are any best practices or tips to ensure the final video looks professional, please don't hesitate to share your insights.

Best Regards,

Yaris

Removing a watermark from a video using online tools can be straightforward, especially if you prefer not to install any software on your computer. Below, I'll guide you through two of the best free online methods to remove video watermarks on Windows.

Step 1: Go to the online video watermark removal website through your web browser.

Step 2: Click on the "Upload Video" button. Select the video file from your device that contains the watermark. Allow the video to upload fully before proceeding.

Step 3: Once uploaded, the tool will display the video with a frame for selecting the watermark. Drag and resize the selection box to cover the watermark precisely.

Step 4: Covers the watermark with pixelated squares, obscuring it effectively. Use the preview feature to see how the watermark removal looks.

Step 5: Click on the "Remove Watermark" button to start the processing. Wait for the tool to apply the changes. Processing time may vary based on video length and complexity.

Step 6: After processing, a download link will appear. Click on "Download" to save the watermark-free video to your computer.

    Pros:

    • Specialized Tool: Specifically designed for removing logos and watermarks from videos.
Simple Interface: Straightforward steps make the process quick and easy.
Multiple Removal Techniques: Offers different methods to suit various watermark types.

    Cons:

    • Time Consuming. You have to upload and download videos during the process. It could take much more time for large videos.
    • Limited Free Usage: May have restrictions on the number of videos you can process for free.
    • Quality Variation: The effectiveness of watermark removal can vary based on the video's background and watermark placement.

Use Shotcut, a free, open-source video editing software that's powerful and user-friendly. You can use it to crop out the watermark or overlay another element to obscure it.

    1. Open Shotcut and click on "Open File" to import the video from which you want to remove the watermark.
    2. Drag and drop the imported video to the timeline at the bottom of the screen.
    3. Select the video track in the timeline. Go to the "Filters" panel and click the "+" button to add a new filter.
    4. Search for the "Crop" filter and add it. Adjust the crop settings (left, right, top, bottom) to remove the portion of the video containing the watermark.
    5. Instead of cropping, you can add a logo or another image to cover the watermark. Add the overlay image to a new video track above your main video. Resize and position the overlay to cover the watermark area.
    6. Once you're satisfied with the changes, click on "Export".
Choose your desired export settings and click "Export File" to save the video without the watermark.

Tip: Before attempting to remove watermark from a video, ensure that you have a back of the origin video in case of any damage!

If this is your own video and you want to remove watermark from video, there are a few ways to do it right on your PC.

    1. Use video editing software:
If you have access to video editing software like Microsoft Photos, you can do some basic editing.

    • Open Microsoft Photos: Just right-click on the video file, select "Open With," then "Photos."
    • Edit the video: Once it's open, click the "Edit" button (usually the little pencil icon in the top right corner).
    • Crop the video: If the watermark is on one of the edges, you can crop it out. Click "Crop" and adjust the frame to exclude the watermark. This is a pretty simple fix, but keep in mind that you may lose parts of the video.
    • Save changes: Once you're done, save the video, and you're done!

    2. Use screen recording:
If cropping isn't enough or the watermark is in the middle, you might consider recording your screen while the video is playing:

    • Open the Xbox Game Bar: Press Windows + G to open the Xbox Game Bar (it's a cool built-in feature).
    • Record the screen: Simply hit the record button while the video is playing full screen. You won't capture the watermark this way, but it will give you a clear copy of the footage.
    • Edit the new video: You can then import this screen recorded video back into Microsoft Photos to make some simple edits and save it.
  • If you're using a video editing software like Adobe Premiere Pro or Vegas Pro, make sure you've selected the correct detection settings for the watermark. Some watermarks might be too subtle, and if you use aggressive detection settings, you might end up removing other important elements of the video. When removing the watermark, you might introduce noise or artifacts into the surrounding area. This can be particularly noticeable if the original video has a lot of fine details. To avoid this, use a noise reduction tool like the one in Adobe Premiere Pro or the Denoiser tool in Vegas Pro.

To remove watermark from video, you can use the Microsoft Azure Machine Learning (AML) Image & Video Editor. This is a cloud-based service that allows you to edit images and videos using AI-powered tools. Here's how to use it to remove watermark from video on PC:

    1. Upload your video: Upload the video you want to watermark-free to the AML Image & Video Editor.
    2. Select the watermark removal tool: Choose the watermark removal tool from the editor's toolset.
    3. Set the watermark detection settings: Adjust the detection settings to ensure the tool doesn't remove any important elements of the video.
    4. Use noise reduction tools (optional): If needed, apply noise reduction tools to smooth out the surrounding area.
    5. Save the output: Download the watermark-free video and save it as an MP4 or other supported format.
