Taskbar keeps underlining app icons after they're closed.

Sometimes, simply restarting the Windows Explorer process can resolve user interface glitches.

  1. Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
  2. In the Processes tab, find Windows Explorer.
  3. Right-click on it and select Restart. This will refresh the explorer and may clear the underline issue.
