Stopping Windows 11 from showing .zip files as folders?
I'm experiencing an issue with Windows 11 where .zip files are being displayed as folders instead of being recognized and treated as compressed files.
If you're comfortable using the Windows Registry, you can check if there is a specific issue with the entries related to .zip files.
- Press Windows + R, type regedit, and press Enter to open the Registry Editor.
- Navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.zip.
- Ensure that the value (Default) is set to CompressedFolder.
- If it isn't, you can modify it. Be cautious while using the Registry Editor; changes can affect system functionality.
