SmartSwitch PC Updates will only be supported through the MS Store Going Forward

I use Samsung’s Smart Switch Backup/Restore for my Phones and Tablets. I use the PC program to back them up to my data drive. Today, when I went to restore one of my Tablets, I received this message.

So far, it has not been an issue, and even today, I was able to update Smart Switch seamlessly through the MS Store, with a local account. But, in this case, it looks like they have made an agreement with Samsung to require the MS Store for future updates. Add this, to the recent attempts to block Windows 11 local accounts on new installations, and I think they are going to start tightening their login requirements.
