since latest update (just installed) files window is messed up

Hi. Since yesterdays update, I have problems when I try to look at the files. When I open folder like PC or Downloads/Documents - the left side panel gets mixed up. as well as when I change size from small to large (top right) the tools like minimize/small/large top right disappear.
