DanielThomasI have a similar situation.
I use a Lenovo laptop that recently received update KB5042099 on 8/19/24, and I've encountered several issues since then:
- My Settings app crashes when I attempt to open Display settings.
- The NightLight setting on the taskbar is disabled.
- In the taskbar, the additional settings popup- "Select a Sound Output" shows blank controls unlike before when I could actually switch between audio devices and control them.
What I have tried:
- Restarting the laptop
- Running Deployment Image Servicing and Management and System File Checker (SFC): both completed with no issues discovered
- Disabling and re-enabling both graphics cards
- Running the command: reg delete HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\IrisService /f
- Resetting and repairing Windows Settings
- Updating display drivers
I have unfortunately lost the necessary restore point to revert the system to a previous state. Could someone offer any insights or solutions? Thanks in advance!
Update:
1. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling the graphics cards
2. A repair of the OS install.
