Windows 11's Windows Security App can't open.
- Sep 01, 2021
Hello,Suggest try the following steps:
- Open PowerShell by using Administrator rights
- Copy and paste Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.SecHealthUI -AllUsers | Reset-AppxPackage to the PowerShell window and press enter
- Close the PowerShell and retry
Little_Joe There is no error to show, when you click on the tray icon for Windows Security Center it's supposed to pop up the app. It doesn't. Not in my local limited account; only in the administrative account. When you right-click and choose any of the four options you get this:
I have other laptops of the same model and setup that do not have this problem; clicking the blue shield in the tray pops up the security center just fine; whether in the admin local account or the limited account. I've performed both your powershell commands in each account, with an elevated admin Powershell prompt, the commands execute successfully but I still get the issue in the screenshot.
Thanks
Philip
fairlane32 I have the same issue, I've run all the solutions above but Windows Security still only loads while in Admin account, not my regular account. The app doesn't even show up in my list of apps when logged in as a regular user.

You may have to do that. This is definitely a Microsoft issue; If you can't upgrade from 10 to 11 without them breaking their own antimalware client I'd wait to upgrade until they admit this is an issue and fix it.
