Install error - 0x80070001
Make sure that the disc you are using Windows on isn't converted into a dynamic disc. Also make sure you don't have a drive designed to letter's A and B as it seems that Windows needs that somehow for updates.
I just had similar problem with Store and Windows update neither working with ImDisk RAMDISKs configured to letters A and B. Changing those designations to U and V everything started working again.
Absolutely MUST signal boost this lifesaver. Changing the RAM disk away from letter A: solved the problem for me. Eventviewer and CBS logs were being utterly unhelpful with Windows Updates and Microsoft Store updates all failing instantly with this error. It's beyond me that this isn't being reported in any of Windows' related logging as is the fact that finding low space on A: or B: would be considered a download failure scenario when there are no other drives with a free space issue. A and B make good throwaway drive letters. Microsoft fix your crap holy balloney!
