Profile compatibility between Thunderbird versions ?
I seem to recall reading a while back that old Thunderbird profiles may not be compatible with newer versions of Thunderbird, or vice versa. IOW I may not be able to use my old Tbird profiles from my Windows 10 sdd with a newer version of Tbird that will get installed onto a new sdd with a fresh copy of Windows 11. Or is that wrong information?

To minimize problems, it's recommended to back up your existing Thunderbird profile before migration, install the same or a newer version of Thunderbird on the new setup, and then carefully restore your profile. Following official migration procedures and ensuring you have backups typically allows you to use your old profiles smoothly with newer Thunderbird versions.
